Day 247 (Two-Hundred & Forty-Seven) of 365 days
A survivor is someone who can take their problem and make it so they are no longer problems but instead something that will benefit them. Someone that will have moments where they think that they can not continue but overall is still very positive. Some that knows what to do in a time of need learn from their mistakes. Someone that is somewhat fearless by using their fear to push them further. Someone independent and dependent at the same time. Some are tough and strong and can let that rub off on other people when it is necessary.

A survivor is someone who can keep themselves going and use what is around them to overcome their problems. Being resilient is a key trait to being a survivor. Suffering is the one thing that every human being on the face of this planet has in common. Every person faces troubles as they make their journey through life, and each person handles those troubles differently. I believe that it’s the ability to endure and persevere through the adversities with great strength, and the ability to learn from these challenges that constitute a true survivor. One group in particular that faces much adversity day in and day out is homeless. Each day is a constant struggle to overcome.
There are many things I wish people had told me before I started college. Learning how to successfully survive in college is a task that many students will deal with throughout their first year of college. However, there is a way to alleviate some of the many burdens college freshmen’s will eventually encounter. A prime example would be to know what skills you will need to possess before you begin college. Attempting to learn what survival skills you need to successfully get through college, may condition your mind for the tasks and trials lying ahead of you. Among these survival skills, are making a good schedule for yourself, attending all your classes every day, staying organized, and obtaining good study skills.
Throughout my entire life, I have seen many tough people, I have seen many harsh sights, and faced many difficult challenges. Accomplishing these things seems to be easy, but I believe I have not only overcome these challenges but used them to develop myself as a person. I look back and feel happy for having such wonderful people, like my Mom, in my life to comfort me through all of my anxiety. I think of how lucky I am to have parents that care about me, and a Mom who sacrifices things she has to make me happy.
Throughout our life, it is bound that there are periods of challenges that we must face, but the real challenge is how we grow and learn from overcoming them. Being naive, innocent children, we ignorantly believed that life was going to be simple. Oh, we were far from correct, we can only dream for life to be that easy. My life, in particular, has been filled with countless, tiring ups and downs. It felt like I was on an endless roller coaster of obstacles. As we mature from being children into adults, we will continue to face countless hurdles that only get bigger and more consequential. I would do anything to go back in time when I thought learning division was complicated as untying a series of knots. To when the obstacles we faced were insignificant and foolish.
Thankfully, life isn’t a game where we can only have one chance. Even when we stumble a thousand times, we can still manage to get back up and that’s why we’re survivors who have survived life storms.
