I’ve read many quotes on failing in life. A lot of those quotes are great. One quote that has inspired and influenced me is a quote from Maya Angelou. The quote says you may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. It may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it. This quote has taught me it’s going to be alright if you fail, not to beat myself up, and to never give up.

In life, there are many tragedies and unexpected turns. Things you never thought could happen can just turn up out of the blue. Things that could change your life forever. Especially in this day and age with the economic problems, many homes struggle. So many kids in this generation don’t understand how easy they have it, and how little they have to do until things change. But the thing about it is, you can’t live life in the past. You have to keep on pushing forward and never give up.

I feel It is very important to always push yourself as much as you can to succeed in life. This pushing can fall under any category, such as your education, sports, and self accomplishments. Some people have it easy and have everything handed to them, or some people have parents who have a set plan for them and they follow those guidelines to become successful. And some people have nothing and at one point have that urge to just give up and settle for what they think will get them by. I intend to encourage anyone to never give up and to never settle for less, to always push yourself to the limit until you do, how will you know how far you can go? It is only by testing your limits that you can determine where you can go with your abilities.

The many trials of life will knock you down so many times. Life is so full of challenging roads. Besides, when life knocks you down, you can get back up, or you can give up and stay down. The enormous question is, what to do when you get knocked down? Should you lie there and allow life to pass you by or continuously get back up?

My advice to you, continuously going back up. It doesn’t matter how many times you get knocked down, whatever the circumstances may be, the most beneficial response is to get back up again. The storms of life will knock you down more times than you can count, but it doesn’t matter how many times you fall - what matters is how many times you get up. What keeps your head above water when you feel like life is pushing you under? Well, when you feel like quitting, often, courage is the quiet voice assisting you to endure by saying, ‘when you get knocked down, get back up.’

I must admit life is tough, but you can be more stringent. Life will knock you down, but one thing is for sure. The ardent will go back up. My knockdown experience in life taught me - when life knocks you down and closes the doors for you. It only means it is now an opportunity to honour your potential and move forward.
