Directly acting upon a sound decision. Instilling the virtue of leadership will prevent us from saying cruel things (or posting mean comments on social media) and help us use our words widely rather than resorting to fighting. It will also help us to be better leaders.

Leadership is an integral part of work and social life. In any situation, when people want to accomplish some goal, a leader is required. Leadership occurs in all formal and informal situations. Even within us and our friends, there’s always an individual that takes lead in most of the group activities and influences others to work towards common goals.

Leadership is one of the most important aspects of life. Above all, it has led to progress in human civilization. However, not everyone has this quality. This is because effective leadership requires certain important characteristics.
First on the list is “Confidence”, the top requisite quality. To be a leader, we must possess strong self-confidence. A person lacking confidence can never be a good leader. We must be confident enough to ensure others follow us. We must also strive to inspire others and be role models.

Mahatma Gandhi was an excellent example of a good leader. He was a staunch believer in non-violence. With his brilliant leadership skills, he made the British leave India. This was one of the most unique forms of the independence struggle. Unique because Gandhi fought for freedom without any violence.

Abraham Lincoln was another notable leader. Most noteworthy, he ended the slavery system in the United States — on the quest of which he consequently made enemies. However, he was a man of massive self-confidence. His struggle against slavery certainly became an inspiration.

We all want to be leaders of tomorrow but do we possess the skills that’ll make us good leaders? Good leadership is the door to success. In contrast, bad leadership is a guarantee of failure. Good leaders are surely what makes the world go round, and the hope of every nation.
